Heart warming story..............

Want to share this story...because it is a true
example of someones heart that is oh so in the
right place....
A man in Denver, Colorado was upset at seeing
so many homeless people in his community...and 
so he came up with this idea...he made all the 
arrangements to secure a local ball park field, including
baseball equipment, etc...then he went around to all the
homeless people and invited them to come to that baseball
field to play baseball...they came...many...many came to 
part take in this pass time...bringing to their lives a much
needed diversion from their troubles...
So here is a man who had an idea to do something for others...
He brought his idea to fruition and that makes him unique indeed.
And that makes him a lovely example for us all...I salute him and say God Bless you...................

Here's my opinion!.................

Today on this blurb and that one...I saw that
Miley Cyrus performed a number at some music
show that was in the opinion of many ....raunchy
and in the poorest of taste...Listen up here Miley...
you want to grow up...sure we all did when we were
your age....but to cheapen yourself and behave with
out a care in the world as to how others would perceive
you...how others would think about your image as a
young women...is the height of not using your brain...
stupid is what it is....Why are you so entirely fixed on
the notion that you have to be some kind of sex bomb...
to be successful and happy...It is a mistake.....take a 
look around you Miley and see who is advising you...
where are your parents...do they think this behavior is
acceptable  for their daughter....you are a pretty
young women who can sing.......concentrate on
that and leave the titilating gyrations to the strippers....
or you will end up a laughing stalk.....Wake up.....
My opinion....not because I'm old...but because I can
see and what I see here is simply ...not a good choice.....

Trivia ......all I got....

Couple of things...folks....are you out there?

Reading about Leo and Sonya...that would be the
Tolstoy's ....oh boy their relationship was way way
up or way way down...they had moved away from
each other emotionally and really in so many important
ways....especially when Mr. Tolstoy professed to find
Jesus...wanting to give all his earthly possession away..
This not setting well with Sonya....this and so many other
often bizarre things in their life causing them pain and 
anguish and just down right misery....They had 13 children...
yes that was 13...with two  of them passing away....
It is a good read but not a fun read....I just want to take them to a good therapist...
Well that was Louisa's book report....Next I want to read about
Elinore Roosevelt....and the incomparable Mother Teresa....

Here where I reside in So. Cal....the heat is kicking up at the 
almost end of August and I no like.....heat and me don't get along....
And with that said I hope where ever you are...that you are as 
cool as you want to be....................

Hard to accept............

Yes hard to accept what is laughingly
called entertainment today....I just 
read a review that the movie starring
Jennifer Aniston...in this movie we are
treated to the sight of someones testicle...
my...my...my...certainly an important and necessary part of the script...this is very
sad and disheartening...what the young people are watching (even very young) today at the movies....
For me my favorites will always be the old classics of the 30's 40's and 50's....it is
the infamous 60's when morality in the entertainment industry took a nose dive...never to return...Young people only know the entertainment industry of today completely devoid of decent
logic...Sad..sad..very sad indeed....

Books....Glorious books...................

Yes books are glorious...for the pleasure the
bring us...the diversion they bring us...often
much needed...
I just finished reading about the Lincolns...
their relationship was full of drama and pathos...
very complicated relationship they had...
Just now I'm starting a book about Leo Tolstoy
and his wife Sonya...they two had a love/hate
relationship...very contentious. Should be 
interesting learning about this popular Russian
author and his life....
Next I want to read the biography's of Mother Teresa
and Elinore Roosevelt....you can see I love to read about
people and their lives....a favorite genre for me...
So happy for the increased reading that I have been
doing these years...as I said above...to be able to pick
up a book and read for whatever amount of time...takes
us away to new horizons and new revelations...so good
to have available to us....So here's to reading...Do you
know that the most important invention ever....was the
printing press.....this I read sometime back...without it
where would civilization be....

Invision........

According to Websters Dictionary:
Envision....to imagine something 
not yet in existence...........
I have done this as long as I can
remember...
Envision.....almost every large 
dinner I have ever undertaken,
i.e. even down to which pots &
pans to use...the way the table
will look and so on....envisioning
many different recipes that would
be best to make, etc....
Envisioning directions to go somewhere...
Envisioning a serious subject that I will
be discussing with a family member or
friend....envisioning how I will look in
that particular outfit or that other outfit...
Envisioning how happy someone will be
when I do something nice for them...or
say something nice to them.
Envisioning how my grandchildren will
look as they get older....I love envisioning.
To me it is an important component to use
for just about anything.....

Do yourselves a favor and rent these movies...
to enjoy music and lyrics that are out of this 
world amazing and lovely and stupendous...
Music that will send your senses to a higher
plane and you will come away...with  an 
appreciation of what music and lyrics can
do for the human soul......the very talented
and amazing Oscar Hammerstein and the
equally talented composer Richard Rogers...
collaborated on these incomparable musical
landmarks.......

The King and I.....The Sound Of Music....

Some things on this mind.................

Just read this in Stockton, Calif. an employee finds
$10,500 in an envelope among clothing donations at a 
Goodwill store, and her intact and lovely conscious moves
her to tell authorities in order to find the owner of this sub-
stancial amount of money...this young women feeling that
the owners of this money will be so happy to recover it...
Goodwill says she perhaps is in for a 10% reward...and
rightly so...I hope this young women is very proud of her
self...she did the right thing and I for one salute her.....

Folks don't ever give up on those lovely little African Violet plants.........
After over one year that it did not bloom again...it is now in
full bloom...(more buds than ever before) beautiful little 
pink flowers...and 5 or 6 little buds to go...I am just delighted
to see this little plant that I mooned over and watered faithfully....put out a little bud some weeks ago...and then another and another...it does my heart good that I did not 
give up on it...and toss it...which I never could have done...but oh what a sweet reward for just hoping it would bloom again one day....These are the small pleasures of
life here for Louisa...and they are so marvelous...

A poem for you..................."Imagine"
Imagine a world without trees...flowers...
birds or bees...how barren it would be...
how still...how quite for you and for me...
Imagine if you will...no green...no flower
color galore...all that no more...no
vegetation of any kind...I think I would
lose my mind...not to see flowers of
magnificent design...not to see trees of any
kind...the rose...the redwoods... not to be seen...
not to be held in the highest esteem...Lost to
the world as in a bad dream...a pitiful thought...
and that's all it is...I thank you dear Lord...
creator of all...you have given us such beauty...
for our eyes to behold...we thank you...we
thank you...there more precious than gold.............

Wild life in my back yard..............

And many and varied they are...the animals in
my back yard....I mean I live in the city...and we have 
had the ever favorite squirrels....the rather creepy possum...
though no picture of this creature...Oh how many of you
have had a hawk land in their tree....with the screetch of
the regular bird life having a loud bird fit over this uninvited
bird.... alerting us...and we came running... they do not like the hawk....and several sightings of the cute faced racoon.....eating out of our cat's dish with abandon, and even looking at us as we carefully kneel to watch this cutie eat with it's paws...picking up the cat food with two paws... like cupped together....very interesting to see...still this is not a visit by the racoon that we welcome on a regular basis....And then there is our beloved Egret....haven't seen her much lately...as I told you few blogs back...she has come to our tree...sitting their to see if it's all clear to pop down into our neighbors yard....you see that is where the koi pond is.....not meant to get a koi Mr. Egret.......cuz   The neighbors there see the bird and then they open the door and the dog's come zooming out and of course the bird flies away....did I tell you that the 3 dogs are hound dogs...Story for another time...................................
