I think my first experience with crafting
was way back in the early years of my
marriage....I chose to make candles...I
remember saving milk carton's and I
think small tins...like tuna cans....and I
poured candle wax ...in one color and let
that set up...then went back and poured
another color...these were sensational and
just beautiful....I thought...I also remember
obtaining some sand and made like kidney
shaped holes in that sand and pouring the
candle wax in that...I made dozens...because
I never do anything smallish...I plough ahead
and my candles were many... as if born by happy
candle making rabbits....next I put rope around
just about all my vases...and a few lamps...large
ones to boot...Watch out kids!!! I spray painted many a frame with that spray that left them rough and sandy looking...
So today there is Pinterest...where one can find project
after project of crafts to do...Here are some I saw...bottle
caps with pictures in the center with magnate for frige...
beautiful wreath for Christmas made of white straws with red
stripes...really simple...really clever....I saw roped vases and lamps...still popular...of course candle making ever a good craft...This idea was intriguing ...an old refrigerator covered in some kind of perhaps wall paper ...it was turned sideways and short legs were attached to it...when you opened the door...it was full of ice...it had been turned into a glorified and large ice chest...to accommodate a really big soiree....One of my prized possessions are two boxes...sturdy...one small ...one meduim...and from a craft show many years ago I learned to
paint them with a method that made them look like marble....I use them both for decoration...In my opinion you don't have to decorate with costly items...that's why as I said in yesterdays post...why I liked Ruth Graham...she liked the old things that were cast offs of others ...you know someones trash...another's treasure.....I also adore this way to recycle and enjoy a used item......so go to your local thrift store...especially when your looking for something in particular....the selections are interesting and don't forget the individual who now and then buys some old thing and it turns out to be the genuine thing worth thousands....I should be so lucky........Whatever!
I remain....devoted to my blog...and my blog loves me...I know this...................see you dear kids.....one and all .....in the funny papers...........................louisa...shall I find a painting for you to lay your eye balls on....Okay...I will do as you say......This is an large empty dvd cylinder...watch out or I'll paint your arm...Ha!ha!
